Latest Updates from Our Project:

An update NOT to miss
over 5 years ago – Tue, Oct 23, 2018 at 11:39:50 PM

Hello White Ashians,

We have so much exciting news to share with you today, but first, a shipping update.

As of this post, we are just nigh of 90% completed. If you live in the United States you most likely have your books. If you don’t, you will by early next week (at the absolute latest).

If you live outside the United States, a lot of you already have your comics. But government red tape is not being kind to us.  Several of our packages have sat in the Los Angeles branch of US customs for over 10 days after being mailed, before beginning their journey out of the country. So if you’re outside the US and you don’t have your books, November may be a more likely target date. Which, considering November was the ship date we initially promised on our Kickstarter campaign, isn’t too bad of a revised delivery window.

Speaking of Kickstarters…

That’s right, the climax of our first story arc, the 40 page White Ash: Chapter Four is launching in less than two weeks. I know a few of you received a notice that we were considering launching on October 29th, but we’ve pushed one week in order to make sure we get things just right. Team Ash has some really exciting surprises in store for you this time around that we’re just bursting to tell you about. But we’ve got to wait just a little bit longer. What we can tell you is we’ll once again have first day, early-bird specials and limited-edition exclusive rewards. Last campaign, several of these tiers sold out on day one. So please, circle November 5th on your calendar if you want to have your pick of White Ash goodies.

But while we’re on the subject of White Ash goodies, there’s another campaign that recently launched on Kickstarter. Kevin Joseph is back with Tart #7, his ongoing series about a time-traveling demon hunter.

Charlie here — if you’ve been around for a couple of our Kickstarters, you’ve probably heard us mention Tart before. Kevin is a old friend of mine and of White Ash’s. He’s often singing our praises online and it’s nice when we get a chance to return the favor and tell you about what a fun, sexy jaunt through time Tart is. But this isn’t one of your normal kickstarter plugs, oh no. See, Kevin is so convinced you’ll like Tart, he’s letting me give away the first three issues FOR FREE to all our White Ash backers. (That's right, for free)

(DOWNLOAD TART 1-3 NOW)

So give them a read, and if you like Tart and want to back Kevin’s campaign, we have another special treat for you. See back in the day, before Lillian met Aleck, she took a little road trip/lake trip and happened to run into a certain time-traveling demon hunter. And Conor Hughes has captured a snapshot from that moment in this exclusive print.

And you can get a copy of that print for free by backing Kevin’s campaign at the $16 dollar tier or higher.  Just make a pledge and then when the campaign is over and surveys are sent out, enter the codeword "Lillian" when prompted and Kevin will slip the print in with your book.  It's that simple.

What's also simple is that we've been blown away by your continued support of our comic. All of us at Team Ash have been thrilled to hear how much you have been enjoying the books and we've been loving seeing the pictures on Instagram and twitter of our packages arriving safely at their destinations. To quote a comment from Ken, one of our amazing backers, we take pride in our "fortress-like packaging." It takes a bit more time for us to get each White Ash bundle out the door, but we know we've given them their best shot of arriving at their destination safely.

So for the few of you who still don't have your books yet, they're on their way. Keep your eyes on your mailboxes and customs willing, they'll be full sooner than later. We'll be back with another update with some more revels about our Kickstarter launch next week. Till then...

Thank you,

Charlie, Conor and Fin

The Books Are Here/Shipping Has Begun
over 5 years ago – Fri, Oct 05, 2018 at 01:29:27 AM

Hello White Ashians,

Good news, Kraken got the comics to us even quicker than promised and they look glorious.

As such, we’ve gotten a jump on fulfillment. As of this update, just over 125 packages have already been mailed. A lucky few of you might even get your books today.

Here’s a little snapshot of the process.

Rest assured, we’ll be working overtime to get out the remaining 300+ packages ASAP. We’re going to stand by our previous timeline…

“If you live in the United States, most of you should receive your Chapter Three rewards within the next 2-3 weeks. If you outside the United States, you should receive your rewards by the end of October.”

…but rather than this being a goal we’re working to achieve, this is a standard we now comfortably expect to meet/ exceed.

Because after a couple of days of shipping, we know what numbers are viable. We tested to reach a conclusion.  That's science.  And speaking of Science...

Charlie here. Waaaaay back when White Ash was just a glimmer in my eye, I reached out to Jason Inman to talk Kickstarters.  Jason and his wife Ashley Victoria Robinson had just launched the mega-hit Jupiter Jet which they went on to publish though Action Lab. Well, they're back with SCIENCE!

This book is already funded, in fact there are only seven days left to get in on the fun. And trust me,  if you've read any of Jason or Victoria's other work before at DC, IDW, Top Cow, etc, you know that fun is a huge part of what they're about.  That and amazing comics. So draw your own conclusions and check them out.

Anyway, we here at White Ash are thrilled to finally be able to share our fun with you.  Keep your eyes on your mailboxes and hopefully, they'll be full sooner than later.  We'll be back with another shipping update next week.  Till then...

Thank you,

Charlie, Conor and Fin

Shipping Update
over 5 years ago – Sun, Sep 30, 2018 at 01:36:45 AM

Hello White Ashians,

Good news,

We’ve just gotten word from our printing partners at Kraken. The books have been printed and are being packed for transport now. Thanks to the wonders of modern aviation, they should be arriving at our Los Angels HQ early next week. Which mean by Friday, the first packages should start arriving at their destination (Yep, in six days).  Kraken worked hard with us to make sure we could get these books out to you as quickly as possible. And we’re going to do our best to hold up our end. We’ll keep you posted as the fulfillment process unfolds, but here’s a rough timeline:

If you live in the United States, most of you should receive your Chapter Three rewards within the next 2-3 weeks.

If you outside the United States, you should receive your rewards by the end of October.

We’ll do our best to beat both of those timelines, but for now, that’s the goal.

For our digital backers, don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten we still owe you a couple of digital rewards. To that end, if you check your Backerkit email, we’ve just released the deluxe PDF’s for Chapter One and Chapter Two. The Deluxe PDF for Chapter Three is still in progress. Hopefully that will be done in a couple of weeks.

But here’s something that’s going to be done in a couple of hours. Charlie here. While at SDCC, Conor and I met Enrica Jang, writer of the paranormal mystery series, Crossing. Enrica’s back on kickstarter with a really cool concept that has just 32 hours left to get funded.

A Soul Divided/ Caged in Flesh: A Jekyll & Hyde Anthology.

A double-sided comic anthology inspired by "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde." One side Jekyll, the other side Hyde. And you get to choose which team you want to be a part of." It’s a really interesting concept and well worth checking out.

And while on Kickstarter, I also suggest taking a Road Trip to Hell with Nicole D’Andria.

Nicole, who’s been working at Action Lab for the last couple of years, knows how to put a comic together. And the The Devil is in the Detail is an amazing-looking debut book.

We'll be back next week with some more updates on shipping and some pictures of the books.

Thanks again, we couldn't do any of this without you.

All the very best from Team Ash,

Charlie, Conor and Fin

Digital Art is on its way
over 5 years ago – Tue, Sep 11, 2018 at 11:25:09 PM

Hello White Ashians,

Any minute now, you should be receiving an email from Backerkit with links to a bunch of digital White Ash artwork that you can download and enjoy.  For our Digital-Only backers, these are your copies of what the Physical Reward backers will be getting.  For our Physical Backers, consider these a little preview of what's to come.

As always, if (after a couple of hours) you don't see that email from Backerkit, check your junk mail.  And if it's not in your junk mail, feel free to reach out to us on Kickstarter. Well get you sorted.

And if you do like what you see, and find yourself Jonesing for a bit more of Conor's amazing artwork, we can also help you out there too.  Because Conor's just lent his talents to another amazing project that's currently on Kickstarter, doing an exclusive variant cover for GANGSTER ASS BARISTA

Charlie here. If you've been part of our previous campaigns, you'll know I'm a huge fan of Pat Shand (AKA the hardest working writer in comics). From Black Mask to Marvel, to... you name it, he's always busy. But his Destiny NY series on Kickstarter is probably my favorite. G.A. Barista is a spin-off of Destiny and it didn't take Conor's cover to convince me to be all in.  Comedy, Crime, Coffee and Pat, you're not going to find a better book on KS or probably in the shops.

Anyway, we'll be back in a week or so with another update on our progress and your rewards.  Everything is still on schedule and fingers crossed, it will stay that way.

Thanks again, we couldn't do any of this without you.

All the very best from Team Ash,

Charlie, Conor and Fin

Kickstarter rewards are starting to roll in from the printer
over 5 years ago – Sat, Sep 08, 2018 at 11:00:39 PM

Hello White Ashians,

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend.  Just wanted to send out a quick update to keep you abreast of our progress.  At this point, all of our rewards (aside from the comics) have been printed and now we're just waiting for them to show up at White Ash HQ.  The first batch actually arrived this morning, so we'd thought we'd share a little glimpse of new set of White Ash trading cards.

As for the comics, they're still currently on track to reach us in early October (and we'll start shipping soon after that).  We'll keep you updated if anything changes.

The SDCC Variants have begun shipping. Right now, we're just mailing the ones that are part of packages, like the Variant Trio tier, that have two shipping windows.  But as we're scheduled to have all our rewards in from the printer by the end of next week, the rest of the SDCC Variants should in the mail the following week.

We'll be back early next week with more digital rewards and pictures of physical rewards. But for now, I do want to take a moment to point you to a project that's on kickstarter for 4 more days that still needs a little help to get across the finish line -- Wolverton, Thief of Impossible Objects

Charlie here. I loved the first book that Michael Stark and Terrell Garrett created.  It had/has that Thomas Crown Affair vibe, but set in the world of the occult. I'm thrilled they're back with their second installment and I hope you'll join me in checking out where the tale of the Gentleman Thief goes.

Thanks again everyone.  We couldn't do any of this without you.

All the very best,

Charlie, Conor and Fin.
